Redundancy is becoming a regular term in media reports lately. While a "shock" to those who receive notice of redundancy it can be traumatic for an employer to have to come to this decision. A service that is available through these times is known as "outplacement". We haven't seen these services needed during the growth periods of the last few years, but those people who faced redundancy some years back who received the benefit of outplacement services would look back at that time as extremely beneficial.
